17 Chainey Avenue, Miami
Located in the beachside suburb of Miami, the duplex development provided an increased density of living for permanent residents. The dwellings feature open planned living arrangements with kitchen, dining and living areas flowing through the ground floor. All living areas open out onto a large alfresco area and private backyards that feature swimming pools and a north-easterly aspect. Each dwelling features a private roof terrace as an additional living area with skyline views.
The exterior built form is articulated with layers of architectural elements and contrasts of tone and materiality. Fixed aluminium screens to the street give depth to the facade and privacy to the street and neighbours. The villas have been modelled as a combined form to create the illusion of a singular dwelling.
